Stomach Pains Symptoms

Cramps and stomach pains can be tough to cope with. Many of us will have suffered from indigestion or something similar at some point, and we all know how unpleasant this sort of discomfort can be.

Stomach pain can be caused by any number of things – be it an infection, food poisoning, an acute, or a chronic condition, such as irritable bowel syndrome. When suffering with this kind of pain, prescription medication which you can buy online, such as codeine or ibuprofen, isn’t the best course of action. In fact, these types of painkillers can actually make your stomach condition worse, so they are best avoided.

You should see a doctor if you’re suffering from severe or persistent stomach pain. But for many types, antacids or paracetamol can be sufficient at lessening discomfort.

However, aside from these medications, there are other things you can do to help reduce feelings of stomach pain. For instance, avoiding certain foods can often help.

So if you’re suffering from digestive pain, here are some common offenders which you should steer clear from:

Saturated Fats

These kinds of fats are very difficult for your body to process, and are best avoided if you’re experiencing stomach or bowel trouble. So anything fried or deep-fried in oil is a no-no. Similarly, most snack foods, such as crisps and biscuits, are very high in saturated fats, and will only make your gut work harder.

Spicy Foods

Meals with a high chilli or spice content can serve to irritate your gut, and cause or exacerbate feelings pain. Milder foods are much better for those with a poor tummy – so lay off the chilli sauce, and take some time off going to your local takeaway.

Fizzy Drinks

Carbonated drinks contain quite a lot of gas, and these can often lead to bloated feelings of pain. Try to give your system a rest, and stick to still drinks. Water is always the best option at mealtimes, as this helps you to better digest what you’ve eaten.

Aside from chewing, your body doesn’t actually do that much to digest nuts before they reach your intestine. If you want to take it easy on your gut, stay away from these and opt for a nibble which is easier to digest, such as olives.
